Last night my sugars stayed high for HOURS! My husband gave me almost an entire pen of Humalog. I was crying and freaking out. I kept telling my husband "I don't want to die!" My husband was phenominal! He had to be into work early, but e put me in bed and came in every half an hour to check my blood sugars for me and give me my dosage of Humalog. I had an RX for my insulin, but left it at the pharmacy because we were tight on cash. Therefore, all I had was a short acting insulin which is why my husband had to come in every 30 minutes. I finally fell asleep. When I woke up this morning I felt like someone had sucked the life out of me. The night before I wanted to eat but my husband would not let me (Only because he wanted to get my sugars in control and was afraid that if I ate my blood sugar was going to go VERY VERY out of control. This experience scared me straight. I am now taking my blood sugars and my insulin! I am actually excited to basically start a new life of control! Mind you, it took me to hit rock bottom, but I hit rock bottom and now I am pulling myself out of the grave I was building for myself and am ready to start a new life!

That's great news. You now see what diabetes could do if you don't take care. Everyday you are going to feel better and better. Do not not take your insulin. If you can't afford it tell your doctor or pharmacy, I'm sure they could help you or guide you to some group who can.

Hey Breeze - I know its hard to keep motivated (not personally but because of my son) but it is so worth it. I can't believe the difference in my son's personality when he has his sugar under control. You can do it! You're in my prayers.

Good for you!!!! I am proud of you. This is a huge step. I KNOW its so hard, but was being that sick ANY easier? Hang in there sweety. We are here if you need a hand or to vent about how awful it is. We'vee all been through it. Good Luck.
