Lyrica for Peripheral Neuropathy.

I have had Peripheral Neuropathy for about a year now, and I am finally getting some treatment, after having all kinds of tests ranging from thyroid scans to spinal taps. The doctor that I see at the pain clinic decided he would try Lyrica, as the Neurontin (1200mg 3x a day) was not working very well and neither was the Baclofen (20mg 3x a day).
My question is: Is anyone else taking Lyrica for Peripheral Neuropathy? And if so how long did it take before it kicked in? And does it work?
I would appreciate any help Thank you!

" I have been on Lyrica for over 2 years now.....I had a leg bypass done that caused major nerve damage around the area of my knee where they took out the artery. I take 2 a day, one in the morning and one at night. When I miss a dose I feel the bees in my knee and the pain. I also am taking it for my fibermylagia which they just released for patients with this. I highly recommend it. "

" I tried it but it made me so sleepy I had to stop. Same with cymbalta. Now I'm just living with the pain. At least it reminds me I'm alive. "

" to stevemoon, try taking it just at bedtime, will help you go right to sleep and at least you won't feel the pain at night, that is what I do, I couldn't take cymbalta either, so I am on paxil instead "

" i am taking lyrica right now and also a B-complex vitamin. the nerve specialist told me to take it as it helps repair the damage to the coating on the nerve. i take one in the morning and one in the evening and if i miss a dose i can definately tell. i was a little more sleepy in the beginning, but now it seems to be gone. my neuropathy has spread to my arms as well. i have a hard time feeding my 8 month old baby girl without my arms just burning. still seeking anything to alleviate the pain and cramping.
