I haven't been diagnosed for 25 years, but wanted to say that I love that show and watch it regularly. My son and I both are type 2 and even though he doesn't watch he gets the benefits from it. I watch and apply all under his nose.. haha..

I don't watch DLifeTV anymore because every time they would bring up the mortality rate of diabetics. I know that information and don't need my anxiety put into over drive every week.

Oh gosh. I was diagnosed right before (like days before) my 21st birthday. Happy birthday to me. :P
That was (at the end of May) 12 years ago. At first I had GREAT control of it. I think partially because I was young. Then we switched meds, I say we but it was my Drs choice to change it up. Then I totally lost control of it. Because of high blood sugars I ended up with an absess of sorts in my stomach area. Long story short, Drs thought it was an ovarian cyst cut me open found out different and really changed my surgery pretty dramatically. All from high blood sugars. I still have a very hard time controling my blood sugars. Though it's better now. I was finally put back on my original medication from when I was diagnosed and that is really helping. Couple that with the warmer weather allowing for more walking and weight loss it's sure to get even better in the coming months. I've had all the "strange" things diabetics can get. Skin rashes, boils/absesses, dry skin all of it. My son was diagnosed last year at age 14 and he's got really GREAT control of it. He's part of a nationwide study called the today study for youth with type 2. He has had NO complications at all.
