I have a friend who drinks orange juice when they get lows , when I get lows a candy bar brings me back up "

" How low? I don't recomend peanut butter because if you pass out it might block your breathing. I think having some small packs of honey are good to have on hand. Oj is fast. doctors and nurses don't educate enought about the lows. It is life or death sometimes. "

" You can carry glucose tablets with you. You can find those by the diabetic supplies at any pharmacy and at Wal Mart.

At home, I have Edy's Dibbs ice cream bites in the freezer. I eat about 10 of those when I feel woozy. They average out to about 1 gram of carbs each. They will melt in your mouth if the drop has you not thinking straight.

" Thanks for the advice,the dr dont tell you what the lows can do just the highs and i go low quite a bit so i backed down to just my glipizide only use my metformin if it goes really high,my lowest has been 35,and i bought the drink instead of the glucose tabs it really brings the sugar up quick can get it at walmart next to the tabs i like the lemon-lime,well all take care and thanks for the advice. "
