" My doctor told me to test 2 hours after every meal. I do take insuling with every meal or snack but to see if it is working 2 hours after meals should show up then. I take my blood on the inside of my arm sometimes. "

" Check your meter directions, mcate, to see if it's capable of alternate-site testing.

If it doesn't say anything about it, you may look into some of the newer meters that specifically mention it. I have the accu-chek aviva, myself, and it's pretty nice. they typically also recommend talking to your doctor about alternate site sugar testing before you buy anything. Good luck!

(as an aside, for some reason i never really use the alt-site stuff. i just stick my fingers. they get sore sometimes, but i've learned to deal with it, i guess. to each their own!) "
