" well, most ppl who are frantically searching for a bf or gf feel they are incomplete. and also the media doesnt help. i remember in middle school ppl had bfs and gfs ,not me =], and also sometimes u find u really like but then its best to be friends. as 4 a worldwide explantion for every person and their particular reason~~a famous saying~~different strokes for different folks. " I think it's because so much pressure is put on teens to conform and part of this is getting a girlfriend or boyfriend. My family members are always asking me "Have you got a boyfriend yet", the word "yet" suggests that i am abnormal and that i should be looking, now don't get me wrong i've had a few boyfriends and i've been single for about a year now simply because I LOVE IT! i've started to enjoy my own independance and freedom, plus it bores me to hell when friends go on about boy troubles, and i don't EVER wanna be like that!!!!!

good post! "

" It's a world full of peer pressure, love, loneliness and lust. Those four are big reasons that teens always seem to want a boyfriend/girlfriend. It's a way for people to get comfort, fit in, fall in love, and/or explore their sexuality. "

" well some ppl want them because others have them. or ppl want bfs/gfs to have someone there for them. also with bfs/gfs you usu have something to do, like when theres nothing to do, watching a movie together or something is fun...or just the sense if ur lucky enough to be in love and experience love...i think everyone wants to be loved. " well, some ppl want a bf/gf at the teenager stage, because they want to be cool...nuff said. though some guys wanted a gf purely for the sex...though, those guys normally didn't have gf's....but rather just slept with alot of girls. hmmm...

if you truly like someone for all the right reasons, then i don't see a problem with teen dating, but probably like 1 in 50 or so, high school couples might remain together in the long run.

but it is silly, going through that year 6/7 stage where everyone wanted to be dating... it was seriously the period of sluts, as they were called; girls who'd date any guy and every cool guy available...and as a bystander knowing that it won't last long.

it's the long run that counts. you might not meet the right person till university, or when you're working. or you might be lucky and meet that person in high school. "

" When I was in high school, I wasn't really serious about it. I basicaly just played with boy. However in college I know a boy who apparantly fancies me and I have had to deal with peer pressure from others to go out with him. I think that if I see him again next year then I'll distance myself a bit from him. He is hard work and will probably still think he can change my mind. I'll talk to him but if he starts getting flirty... "

" people are always talking about being in love. everyday there is a new song about love, everyday there is someone else in my school getting a bf/gf and saying how they are in love. I suppose it would just be nice to know what they are talking about, and to feel happy, and in love. "
