Can Zoloft stopp working? I have been taking it for about a year now and recently I am not sure it is helping like it use to.

" It can poop out after a period of time. I took it for several years and had a 7month holiday from it - seems to be working again. Maybe a dose increase would help. All of the SSRI's (Zoloft's medication class) can poop out and are known to do so. It varies by person - doesn't happen to everyone. "

" Yes, it can stop working. I believe all psych meds can, and I think we don't actually understand why. But yes, it can stop working. You may need a higher dose or it may be time to try something new or add a new med "
