yea, that sounds pretty high, I am on 150 as well... you may want to consider a different medication.

400mg is WAY TOO HIGH....! I am on 200mg, but it has stopped working I think. I am gonna cut back to 150 and see what happens. No snese in paying for 200 when 150 will do the sme thing--nothing!

Seems high, although most GP's stop at the maximum therapeutic dose (in this case, 200mg) and pdocs go way beyond. For instance, most MD's will only rx about 300 of Effexor, but most pdocs will go up to and beyond 450. Don't take your primary doc's shock response as a reason to cut back. And if you do cut back, do so SLOWLY. I cut back 50 and had a recurrence of suicidal thoughts. It was bad.

That is way above the highest recommended does, I hope it's not damaging your liver. Maybe you can suggest to your pdoc that you try a new drug or add a new drug while bringing the Zoloft down. Remember, you don't have to take any meds you don't want to take, and if you think your doc isn't very reliable you can get a second opinion or switch docs. But, as others have said, don't try to decrease on your own

thats really strange. i was on 75 mgs at my highest dosage!
u definitely need a second opinion. and confront your current shrink about it.
i would do it sooner rather than later.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I tried to wean off them months ago, but sunk so low that I was suicidal. So I am trying to wean off them slowly this time. I have dropped down to 300mg but my mood is already dropping. Do you think I should report the person responsible for putting me on such a high dose???

do what your phychiatrist thinks is best. maybe you should check into his hospital and try something different. how do you feel? if good, continue.
i take 75 zoloft, 500 depakote, and 20 propanolol.
