" I take citalopram. It took me about two weeks to start feeling it. That was about 4 months ago....of course, I'm not feeling it anymore. I think I need a stronger dose. "

" I took Citalopram for about a month and felt sick to my stomach and somewhat bad in general. I never heard of it being prescribed WITH Lithium. Lithium is pretty strong as it is. But if you are not feeling better, definately see you doctor and let him/her know, so that you can get something that will work and make you feel better. "

" I have been on it for about 18 months (20 mg. which is the maximum dose I've been told). It isn't working very well right now, but I did feel pretty good up until a couple of months ago. I think the meds are only part of the solution. One has to work at helping themselves as well. Good luck. "

" Ive been on Citalopram 20mg since Feb and it was moved up to 40mg at the end of April as I was still feeling low. I was very nauseous the first 3 weeks and since being on the tabs the key thing that I have noted is that I cant face chocolate! Since the increase in dosage at end of April thoughts of suicide have been supressed and I cry a lot less but noticed that I am eating more. I hope to go back to work in June on a slow return but dont really know if the tabs are working til I put them to the test of being to cope with work. My GP says that it takes at least 2 - 3 weeks for the drugs to filter into your brain system.... "
