This is Re: the idea of locking profiles to Friends only.
I just thought, I don't have a problem with DS members checking out my profile, besides, how else would I make friends? But I would rather not have random idiots(not suggesting that all Google users are idiots) from Google who came across the site completely by chance seeing my profile, and reading about me. So, I'm suggesting a way to lock profiles to DS members only. I know DS only has them unlocked so people who need help can find the site easily, but what if instead of the person's profile, non-members see a bit of info about the site, and just a small note saying the person has set their profile to members only? i understand where you're coming from, but i base who i put on my friends list greatly on their profile. if their profile seems interesting and i might be able to relate to them, then i'll add them as a friend. i think some security is good on here, but at the same time, it's public domain and we understand that when we come here.

Val- I totally understand what you mean. I do that too, and that's why I wasn't so hot on the idea of locking profiles to Friends only, you'ld never make any new friends. I'm proposing just making it so people who are not currently logged in to the DS site cannot look at your profile if you so choose.

Some people do want to set their profiles to friends only, some dont. Why not have the option there? You dont have to do anything you dont want to.
