We have been requesting this feature for over 6 months!!
I'm sorry but why is it more important that the site is pretty than the members feeling safe?

" I agree, our security and anonimity is important, and several members have requested to have their photos locked.
As we can lock our journals, surely the same could be done for our pics? "

" I'm extremely dissapointed that features members have been requesting to DS for months have been completely ignored by the team.

We're talking about providing OPTIONS here (as in choices), not change; simply so users have the choice in how they wish to experience the site.

Remember that when you put pictures/journals etc on here, they don't only end up here. They get automatically archived by google/archive.org because DS relies on every word posted for referals and ad revenue. - So it's not accurate to say that removing personal pictures solve everything. They're still there on the net, because they were not locked in the first place.

To me it does appear as if DS is ignoring these requests for security options for one reason mainly: because they are putting ad revenue concerns above those of their users. Which I don't understand given the very concept & content of this site. Privacy should be key here of all places; even more so than other major networking sites which ALL provide those options, as well as a vast array of others.

Sorry for the rant but this has to be said. "

" I agree and I do not see why we should remove our pictures, sometimes we only want to share them with our friends we have here on DS just like our locked journals. Please DS let us have this feature. "

" I agree, we need this feature. Why are the admins ignoring these repeated requests? Clearly they DO NOT care about the members, only ad revenue. "

" Oh wow I am surprised I hadn't responded to this yet....

I agree, I like the idea of this, actually like the idea of the option of a whole profile being locked. "
