Wellbutrin

Hi, i'm new to this site, and want to know hear positive, happy stories about Wellbutrin. Seems is all you hear are horror stories, and they scare me!! I have been on Lexapro l0 mg....and recently been diagnosed with Menieres Disease, my doctor added Wellbutrin XL l50 mg, I've been on it for 5 days now.....I seem to be tolerating it fine, no side effects, other than I create my own anxiety over just starting a new med, particularly that kind. Not crazy about the mix, but if it helps, hey, what the heck, I'll give it a try. My anxiety/depression comes from the Menieres, it's a wax and wane kind of disease, hard to hear, roaring in the ear, comes and goes. Right now it's rearing it's ugly head. Wellbutrin was added to give me a little boost.......so any good stories? Thanks I need some encouragment.

" Be careful with Lexapro. I had the same dosage and I threw it away because it made my depression staggeringly worse. So just keep an eye out for that. It could just be the meds.

However, I did very well on Wellbutrin years ago. Infact I'm going back to the doctor to go back on it. Good luck with it, it helped me alot. I also have recurrent depression, so I know where you're coming from. "

" I have not heard those horror stories about wellbutrin. It is such a friendly name with nice commercials. i have taken it for 5 years or so and it is fairly decent for me. I really hope that it works for you, because those who have good experiences really seem to love it. Best wishes! "

" I tried Wellbutrin. Gave me the fewest side effects of any anti-depressant. It did give me more energy and a good boost. And it curbed my appetite so I lost weight. The problem was my anxiety. I have PTSD so deal with a lot of anxiety and panic. I was told the main thing to watch for was whether it increased my anxiety or my insomnia. So I took it first thing in the morning. It did make me feel a bit jittery but nothing too bad anxiety wise. I went off of it because it didn't help my depression. But then I haven't found an anti-depressant yet that did help my depression. I just don't respond to them.

Lexapro helped my anxiety but killed my sex drive so I went off of it. Losing my sex drive was really depressing.

Good luck with the Wellbutrin. It helps a lot of people and does have fewer side effects. "

" I have been on Wellbutrin for almost a year now. I had also been on it a few years ago. I am taking Effexor and I was at the max dose of that so they added in Wellbutrin as an extra boost. I didn't notice any side effects at all with the Wellbutrin. I think that out of everything else I take it is the one that didn't cause any bad side effects. Hope it works for you and best of luck "

" I've been on Wellbutrin now for about 5 years. Every other medication I was on lasted for 18 months to 2 years then would stop working so I'd have to change. Not with Wellbutrin. I'd have to say it's been the best and with the fewest side effects! I hope you have the same luck with it I do! "

" I'm not on anything right now, but years ago a combination of Wellbutrin and Buspar helped me greatly with my depression and anxiety. Like some others here, when I tried Lexapro, it made me SO much worse. "

" I have been taking Wellbutrin for about 5 months and I have to say I like it. I had mild sideffects but nothing too bad. But everyone is different. You have to try for yourself to see how your body handles it. What works for others might not work for you. "

" What 'needsashoulder' said is exactly why it took so many years for my Dr. to find the right med for me. It might take some trial and error to find what drug is right for you. I'm happy where I am now with the Wellbutrin after years of trying others. "
