" Cerri,
There are many creative ways to address peoples problems and there are many good therapists and psychiatrists too but mixed in wiht the good there are some real stinkers who can do more harm then good and create further problems for those seeking help. Some people have been burned so badly they have given up finding good help. Since you seem to be so good at finding these things on the web perhaps you could find something with some good guidelines for people seeking help for the first time. Where they should look, what they can or should expect from a therapist and what are warning signals that you've got the wrong person.
Most people who are desperate enough to go into therapy don't usualy have the coping skills to determine many of these questions on their own and may not have family to help them sort it out. "
