Alright, I got put on this at 25mg then upped to 50mg... and I felt great, almost like a normal person.

Now I know theyre not the cure, but right now im in a very odd state of mind where my thoughts arent my own, im irrational, paranoid, overly emotional.... I know its going on and feel almost powerless to stop it.

As far as I know this is a very low dose, do you think I should suggest to my shrink to up the dose?

" lamictal has to be introduced VERY slowly due to a rash. the rash has been known to be fatal.
i am on lamictal 100mg daily although it was just increased yesterday from 25mg a day. I hope it works. The abilify has too many side effects to work for me. "

" I'd definitely talk to your doctor about these symptoms and see what they think.

I'm leery of Lamictal merely because I ended up in the ER with the rash and unable to breathe from it.

I hope you are able to get your symptoms under control and feeling better soon though! "

" I was prescribed Lamictal when my Lexapro seemed to stop being effective. So I switched to Effexor and was started at 25mg first to see if a rash developed and when that didn't happen it was raised to 50mg. I don't get the side effects you are getting but I have created my own anti-Depression cocktail which includes, in addition to the Effexor (75mg) and Lamictal (50mg), I take some natural non-prescription supplements including 5HTP (200mg), Fish Oil (2400mg), Vitamin B12, MultiVitamin, Calcium (for sleep), and Folic Acid every third day. Since I have been on this regularly I haven't had a wiff of depression. "
