I'm ready to explode, and my sister just can't understand why!
She has no concept about boundaries for one thing. She can't understand why when mine are violated, I get miffed. Last night I discovered she had been feeding her cat in my room, and that cat had peed on my bed. I discovered when changing my sheets, that this must have happened several times while I was away. I found 6 other spots on my expensive mattress. When I confronted her about it and the cat, she got upset and started making excuses and arguing, and calls me a bitch for being mean to her since I got back. (I also was upset last night, that when I got off work I had been left a bunch of stuff to clean up when I returned home. They left their dishes in the sink, and I was expected to make dinner as soon as I got back.) Maybe I have been acting like a bitch over things, but it is always like this here, and I'm tired of all the BS being shoved at me. She just can't see why I am upset about being treated this way. She can't see that is her behaviour and actions... or lack of actions that are sending me around the bend. I know I have to move away from here... I am already looking for an apartment... but how the heck do I go about living without loosing it all together before I can actually move? If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate hearing them... I really need to talk this out.... Posted on 11/19/08, 09:11 am |

I had a very similar problem with my brother last year. I know this is going to be hard for you but you have got to stop taking care of your sister. You have got to act like she just isn't there. If you have to, lock yourself in your room until you can move. Stop cleaning up after her, stop cooking for her, stop everything.
I know this is easier said then done but you have to do it for your own sanity. In fact, I just got once again burned by my brother and I do believe this is the final time. So there is hope. It's just going to take a lot of strength and patience until you can move out. PM me any time if you need to vent because I do truly understand what you are going through!

I wish it would be easy to not clean up after her... but if I do that, then I suffer as well. The mess drives me loco! And if I don't pick up her junk from the floor, I end up tripping on it, since I am legally blind and have poor periphery vision... I'm at a loss over what to do...

It is very hard to live with other people especially when it is family and they take advantage of you cause they feel they can.
I would have been so mad if her cat had pissed all over my bed. big hugs..

I don't think you are being a bitch. You want your stuff to stay nice! I had a similar issue last Christmas with kids jumping on my couch and ME getting bitched at for telling them to get off. It's disrespectful to ruin other people's things and you have every right to be upset at your matteress. If dishes aren't done, they can wait for dinner. Only thing I can suggest is maybe some ground rules. No one allowed in your room, dishes must be done if they want to eat, and clean up what's theres. If they refuse to listen, put a lock on your door and don't cook for them. Only what I would do xo

definetly, a lock on the door and do the minmun for your sister, is there anyone that can mediate between the two you.
PS I would be VERY PISSED if it was my stuff being damaged. My thoughts and prayers go out to you that you can sort something out short term/long term
