These are things that work to help combat depression aside meds and therapy.
1. Journaling 2. Gratitude lists 3. Daily lists of accomplishments 4. Talking honestly to friends who are supportive 5. Excersize 6. Prayer 7. allowing yourself to feel your feelings fully without acting upon them and letting them pass 8. Meditation 9. Art 10. Music 11. Reading 12. Volunteering 13. Doing and acknowledging nice things for yourself through out the day 14. 12 step programs 15. Deep breathing 16. taking advise even if you don't like what you hear about yourself 17. Eating healthy 18. Positive reinforcement, positive self talk, 19. Accurate self sight 20. Asking for help when you need it- not waiting until things are completely out of control I made this list because I see so often people asking what they can do. Feel free to add to it! I'd like to add cooking. For me it is great to make something yourself, especially when it tastes good! When it doesn't, you can just laugh it off and not have that ever again. Its great when you can cook for someone else too because you can get a reaction to something you made. If it isn't good, again, oh well... theres always a next time.

I would love to add getting out and back in tune with nature ... Be it a walk in the park, a motorcycle ride thru the country or just hanging out in your backyard with your pets... Not only does it reguvanate your soul, but you get fresh air and sunshine... and if you include your pets they love it too ... Fall is a wonderful time ... the smells the colors all makes the soul happy
