Ex family *sighs*

Well I am divorced but obviously still have to talk to the ex family. I have since my divorce, had another baby.Since then, its as if they EXPECT all the things I would be getting rid of. All the things ME+BF managed to buy without anyones help. Where my ex and his gf have so many buying for them yet they all still expect!
Anyways, having a clear-out and getting rid of toys, bikes, scooters etc. I had the ex MIL saying she wants the bike. I said Daughter has no interest thats why it is going, ( i put everything to charity shops so someone else can appreciate them) She said no! she can play on it there with the other kids. I replied kindly saying at mine even when the kids had the bikes etc out daughter had no interest therefore I am still going to charity shop.

Now I dont know if I am acting petty or if I was within reason saying that I was basically not funding them for things as all they do is try and cause me and my partner grief anyways!

Any help or suggestions?

" Once you have a MIL even after a divorce and you being with someone else they still want your soul. Mines bugging me and i havent seen her for nearly 8 years, arghhhhhhhhh. You give your stuff to the charity shop hun and let someone less fortunate get to benefit. Wise choice and stuff the MIL. x "

" I think its more the point that me and bf do without plenty so the kids dont, fair enough some things end up a waste of money like the bike lol but at least we gave the chance to have it.
Maybe if they didnt shit stir all the time for us i may have felt slightly different on the matter "

" See growing up, our family was shit. Alcoholic dad who pissed the money against the wall so all we got was charity shop stuff. At least nowadays the stuff in them is a lot nicer lol. But I understand there are always people in the situation that have no choice to use them. That is why from the start, I have always put the stuff to charity shop. Kind of giving back a little from when I was growing up. Even though I am not in my home town.
Does that make sense? "

" My mum an dad struggled financially when we were growing up so we had second hand clothes and thats why i always give to charity shops. I know how you feel about MIL. Dont give her the satisfaction just tell her what youve told us that you are giving to the charity shops in order to give something back and stuff the old bat, lol. Ive fallen out with my ex MIL so many times and now i couldnt care less. She bought my daughter a christmas present last year for the first time in 11 years and i asked her what happened to the last 10 christmas presents. Her excuse was that she doesnt like sending stuff through the post and as she live 150 mile away she thought it better not to bother. Cute eh? She obviously hasnt heard of recorded delivery or parcel force. Who needs em darlinx "

" You are a lot more reasonable than I am! Last time the ex MIL told me she was coming round to collect the stuff that her darling boy (AKA son of a bitch - and boy was she.) I told her that I would pile it up into the garden and set fire to it whilst dancing round it! She was willing to take the furniture and the microwave so I told her I would drop the bloody thing on her from a great height e.g. the bedroom window!
Good for you - stick to your guns - if they want the bike so badly they can go and buy it from the charity shop and then they can help out someone else! Hugs, Viv "
