OK, I have a wonderful crop of Basil in the garden. Now I need a good recipe for pesto sauce! I bought some quality olive oil (used Costco olive oil last time. YUCK!) and parmesan cheese.
The tomatoes from the garden are still green, so they can't be part of it until later in the summer. Anybody out there able to help me? Posted on 07/25/08, 04:07 pm |

Just make it with Xtra virgin olive oil, fresh garlic and the basil.
The Parmesan could be optional.

The pine nuts are just a flavor enhancer. The add a nutty flavor to it but they are not a requirement.

Yes, I have tried. But all the cooking sites are quite convinced that their methods are really good. I like to hear from real people!
Oh and Beast, uh, sure. Just gimme your address and I'll mail some to you! Yes, 4 or 5 days in the care of the USPS and it should age quite nice. Hmmm, Winny may like that special process though!

You can bet Paula Deen's is the best! :) See what she puts in hers too. I've tried a lot of recipes from her and they have all been excellent. So, yeah vouching for that one. I loooove basil!!!
