taking talking to the next level

I still struggle really bad with talking to people but the good thing is that i am definately noticing progress. i am finding that i can talk to people who want to talk but also who listen too. but i can't talk to people who only want to listen or who only want to talk. i'm still horrible in situations involving more than 2 people. if i can evaluate myself i would say the areas i still need to work on in holding conversations is being more confident and talking louder and also just coming up with things to talk about. thats probably the toughest one. how do you come up with things to talk about. i tried the writing thing beforehand but its hard to write things that i think i will talk about for some reason. so how can i get better at these things that i feel are still holding me back and take talking to the next level?

" It's great that you're working on something like this. I don't have much advice because talking seems to be something that comes naturally to me. Personally I could take to a chair about a table. I could go on and on for hours.

Perhaps those who have overcome something like this will be able to better advise you.

" well i want to be able to talk better for too many reasons to name. i guess i just connect nearly all the bad stuff in my life to the fact that i don't talk well. i just feel thats my most unnecesary flaw since most people i know do it so well. i want to be able to talk about anything and be able to elaborate so i need to be more well rounded "

" when you meet people ask how they are doing...what have they been up to lately..casual things like that. People love to talk as a rule...then comment on what they say..add something of your own. conversation is a two way street...practice practice...you're already getting much beter !about not being heard...maybe practice speaking more clearly and maybe slower..i don't know..would have to listen to you !! " thanks for the reply. i'm going to try to do that. i don't want to make excuses for myself but i wonder if there is something physiclaly wrong with me that keeps me from speaking loud. i know when i'm a big room with lots of people its hard for cuz i feel like everyone is listening to me and i talk lower but in any other situation i try to talk loud and i'm just not heard "
