I don't know what to think or do, and county just released her on OR. Im so confused and dont know what emotion to have or what to do. She has been suffering from depression and P.t.s.d. for two years now. It came on right after my step dad died 4/22/06. With it coming right around the corner, last Friday night she tried to overdose. She spent time in a 72 hour lock up, but she is still not well. she sufferes from mental ilness any way. I just don't know what to do.

She must be in deep depression abour her partner and refuses to talk or admit he's gone.Till she does that there is not alot you can do, sorry. I just hope she can get some support from her doctor or councillor. Please keep talking too, you need to talk about this. sorry I cant take her pain away but, I cant. wishing you all the luck in the world.

Hi she is in her own world right now .you have to find friends or family to talk to. she's in a very dark place now it's an inbalance. husband is depressed. I know it's hard to deal with this take one hr at a time. do you live with her? keep talking to us people really do care. God Bless You

I am sorry to hear what you have been going through with your Mom.. I hope your Mom is getting counseling, it sounds like what she really needs. There are NAMI Support groups for people like us who are trying to help and understand what our loved ones are going through and to help each other through this difficult time. Just know we are hear for you when ever you need to talk..

Encourage her to get the support she can from any available resources. Be supportive, but don't play shrink with her. It's a dangerous game. My son just attempted suicide and I have been with him for almost two weeks. He's doing better, but ultimately, it's up to him to take his meds and follow through on his treatment plan. He is also bipolar. I am tired and want him to grow up. He's always been a handful. So, don't take on your mother's problems. It will never end and you will end up with no life.
