Hi I am new to this site also. I have read many of your post and I can identfy with them so much.
I am caring for someone who is not my responabily. we had divorced many years before he became disabled. I am soon going to have to make some choices for him that will break my sons heart and mine. My health is starting to suffer as depression sets in more and more often.

" I joined this group when I had to make a move for my Father to a NH. It has been invaluable to have others to talk to and share with. This is a hard decision to make, but one I found a few positives in after awhile.

My Father is not alone, he's eating better, taking his meds and has assistance as he needs it. These are all very big positives.

A very important thing I had to have drilled into my head was to take care of myself or I would be no use to the ones who needed me. The depression, anxiety and overwhelmed feeling I think is all part of a large process, but please make sure you see your doctor too for advice.

You sound like a very caring person to watch over your ex husband and I'm sure you will find the strength to make the right decisions. Just know that there are a lot of people here that have wonderful ideas and have helped me so much.

Take care and come here often. "

" You are a very good woman. Does he have any siblings, new wife, any relatives??? How old are his children? Too young to help? Your own health is of vital importance. I have no words of wisdom or advice. Just take one day at a time. (Ha. Like you have a choice.) The day care you spoke of is a great idea. You are in my prayers. "
