Good Day

After a horrific few weeks of trying to transition my Father to a nursing home, I just thought I would share that today was a good day and I'm so glad my brother and his sons got to spend the day with him.

I think his medication is starting to cut through the paranoia a bit and the nurses have been just wonderful to him. My fears of moving him from his home are starting to subside as I think he finds some great security in having someone there for him at all times.

While there are many challenges ahead as we all have been facing, I thought I would share that today was a good one for him and he even smiled and joked a bit. It was pure gold and these are the memories I will hold on to with all my heart.

I hope you all have a nice week and get to enjoy a good moment or two and treasure it as I do today. I think this will be the first night I sleep well in years.

" I'm glad that the transition to the nursing home went well. My family had to transfer my grandfather to a nursing home, and I remember how difficult it was for my mom and grandmother to try and handle. Hopefully things will continue to go smoothly and the care will be top notch! "
