Saw the neurosurgeon today and got to see the MRI, it was really neat. C4-5 looks like it has the toe of a shoe coming out of it, with bulging on the inside towards the spine, no pinched nerves, and doesn't look like it is affecting the spinal fluid or cord at this time. Diagnosed degenerative joint disease. He said if the ortho that I will be seeing says that my carpel tunnel is not caused from my shoulder pain he will run more tests on my neck in June. I go to the ortho on the 27th. He did not say if it will get worse, doesn't seem concerned about it at this time, but if I start having pain before or after ortho visit to call him. Next decision to make is do I go ahead and make appt with primary doc for lower back or wait and see if ortho will look into it first? What scares me is knowing how much pain my lower back causes me I'm afraid to find out the results of an MRI.

" Going to a primary dr will set down with you and explain the MRI in detail. I have some issues with my back and my Dr has given me some meds that will help. So that is an avenue you can try. "

" I am going to the ortho because my left shoulder seems to keep popping out of the socket, though my primary doesn't think so, wasn't going to tell him my husband has to pop it back into place. I sleep on my right side hugging a pillow to support my shoulder, it seems like it pops out about 1-2 x a week, constant ache with intermittant sharp pains. Had MRI of shoulder done in 06 and all it showed was a cyst but not where the pain is. There was nothing on the MRI at all no torn ligaments nothing. I was in a car accident in 93 and was told I tore the rotator cuff but MRI didn't even show that. I can't raise my arm above my head or lean on that arm with pressure to the shoulder or it will pop out or lock up. The pain is no different now than it was then, maybe pops out a little more often. I was hoping getting out of retail and not doing the repetitive movements it would improve but after almost 2 years of no retail it is no better now than then. "
