" Hello bbbb, Nice to meet you:)

I know they are different for everyone but here is what I have experienced. I have had 2 injections within a month and I actually think I am hurting worse after the second one.

But like I said everyone is different...what do you really have to loose??? "

" My docs have recommended these but I am also hesitant. I've heard that cortizone makes the discs and bone break done more and so it's really just a quick fix. Everyone I talked to who has had an epidural now has back pain to the area. "

" I had this injection before I opted to have surgery. The injection is a little uncomfortable but it worked great. The only problem was that it only lasted for a few days. I decided against having another injection because I didn't think the outcome was worth the discomfort of receiving the injection. By the way, the injection is given in the same way that an epidural is. "

" Hi everyone! I have had cortisone shots for low back pain caused by DDD and they have been my savings grace. Individual results vary as I know they didn't work for some others I know. I am one to try anything before surgery. The downside, as some have mentioned, they may cause further disc breakdown. I try to keep the shots to a minimum. Had one in 2005 and then a few this year, 2008. The shot is a little uncomfortable when the cortisone enters the body - a VERY mild burning feeling. Trust me, nothing like the back pain you are feeling now!!! "
