For thos interested, there are going to be a couple of seminars taking place here in the U.S. that might interest you (if you live within the commuting distance.

First in late September/October, the National Alliance for Thrombosis and Thrombophilia (NATT) will be holding a Patient Education Seminar in the Baltimore, Maryland area ("Stop-the-Clot" forum). This seminar is free to all who attend and is geared towards patients, though members of the healthcare professional are also invited. This seminar will give you a chance to hear from some of the top specialists and even provide a Q&A segment to voice your concerns. As more information becomes available I will keep you posted. Please let me know if you may be interested in attending this Baltimore, MD seminar?

The other seminars is geared towards members of the healthcare professional (though patient are invited to attend). The 2008 Thrombosis Summit is taking place in the Boston area on 27 September. The North American Thrombosis Forum (NATF) is holding this seminar. NATF is a healthcare provider organization who is envolved in DVT/Thrombosis Awareness Initiatives. More information can be found at:
http://www.natfonline.org/summit08... Again, this seminar is gear towards healthcare professionals. I know Dr. Sam Goldhaber who runs the NATF and have personally spoken at several of his other seminars throughout the years. Sam is very much dedicated to helping patients and encourages them to attend all his seminars.

If you have any questions regarding either of these events, please feel free to contact me.

Regards,
Tom

" Wow, what a great opportunity! I hope they bring something like this to the west coast. It amazes me how the majority of my learning and understanding has been through the internet and not through the doctors. That seems to be fairly common, too. "
