INR Checking

I was diagnosed on 4/8/08, so barely a month ago. I started out having my INR level checked every other day, then moved to weekly and yesterday I was told that I don't need to have my levels checked again for a month. My level has always been in my range, but this makes me nervous to not get it checked for a whole month. Is it normal to progress to monthly checking this quickly? The doctor has never had to readjust my Coumadin, so I guess this is the reason why. What are your thoughts?

Yeah, before I was discharged from the hospital, they said once your INR is sort of stable, they typically check it monthly. If you have unstable or low INR continuously, they check it more often.
So your scenario sounds pretty standard, but it may be different for some people, depending on their circumstances.

Once the doctors fine tune the amount of coumadin/warfarin to keep you stable within the therpeutic range then testing is only done once a month. The exception is should your INR drop above/below the target range, then the physician may temporary adjust your dosage until your INR falls back within the target range.
