" Infliximab is Remicade and my son took it for 8 months and it worked really good and he had no side effects until he became immune to it. Your doctor will certainly keep an eye on you for any allergic reaction or if you develope immunity. Best of luck to you. "

" As DM188 said, this is the drug name for Remicade. I went for my first infusion this past Thursday and within 24 hours, I was SO much better. It is a serious drug though and can have some major side effects. I recommend doing a web search so you can read and educate yourself on it. It is given through an IV and infused over 2 hours. Sometimes, they infuse it a little slower the first time to minimize the possibility of side effects. I go for my second infusion in about 10 days. I am feeeling so well...down to 4 episodes with little blood and crapming. Prior to the infusion....severe D, blood, pain, night sweats, fever, etc. I wish you well with your infusion. Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. "

" I have been on Remicade (inflixmab) for over a year now. The medicine is powerful with some side effects (insomnia, fatigue, headache), but the benefits for me have been nearly 0 (zero) Crohn's disease symptoms...It is truly worth every penny "

" I have had remicade before and it worked quick and very well. I felt that I was given a new life. However, like a lot of people, the remicade stopped working. However it was worth the 7 months that I felt great. This worked the best out of all my treatments. Good luck and bring something to read or watch with you. the treatment takes 2 to 4 hours. "

" Good luck! I'm supposed to start this treatment in the next week. I'm very hopeful as my UC has made life pretty miserable for the past year. "

" I've been on Remicade (in conjunction with 6MP) since October of 2006, and I'm still feeling great! I've had no side effects except drowsiness the day of treatment, and that has as much to do with the Benadryl they give me to prevent a reaction than the Remicade itself.

Before this, nothing else had worked, so Remicade was a miracle drug for me! "
