Well I never had erythema nodosum but I did have little red dots with white circles around them on just my legs. My legs would turn purple and these dots would appear kinda like chicken pox but that's not what it was. This is when I first started to have stomach pains and didn't know what I had. My GI doc told me this is one of the symptoms to UC or Crohns. But good luck and hope you are able to find some answers. I'll be thinking of you.

I have stated on a post before that I had foot ball shaped sores on my right side around the rib cage area, the doctor said they were caused from crohns, they were very sore and hurt like Hell, I was never given a name for it, it took a long time for them to get well.

I dont have anything like that at all. If you do have UC I would stay as far away from NSAIDs. I don't know if I trust what it says seeing as how it tells you to take NSAIDs any doc would tell you to stay away it will make flare ups worse and it is not good for you colon. You might want to talk to your doc about this one.

I was reading my book on IBD and I found what you are talking about. It says that you will can get rid of these marks on your skin by treating you UC. It said that they normally appear if your UC is active and by treating the underlining cause (active UC) you can get them to disappear. I still say don't take any NSAIDs like the artical says. You should go see your GI and get the active UC under control. This could also be a sign that you are going to get a flare up. However there is one other thing that can cause stuff like this it goes along with UC and it is called Pyoderma Gangerenosum. This can appear anytime it is not related to your UC being active. It starts out the size of a dime then pouches out with a red purplish border. To treat it you should wrap it up with something that won't stick to your skin, and you can apply topical cortcosteriod ointment and cromolyn sodium. Protopic seems to work the best. If you think you might have the second one show your doc and ask for the cream, don't let him convience you to have it surgically removed this will make it worse and it will take a very long time to heal. Hope this helps!
