weak and tired

I just got back from my surgery. It took me over to weeks to recover in the hospital. I can't tell you how weak and tired i am. I had a heart valve replacement, and my heart couldn't take it, so they had to replace it with a pacemaker. But I was wondering how long it will take me to recover and gain my strength back. Any ideas?

" Sorry I have been away for computer for awhile.
I wish there was a formula or something, so I could put a date on the calendar for "Got my energy back." Because I other serious health issues, I never sure if is my heart/lungs or something else causing the lack of energy. But I see my cardiologist as he requests for follow-up tests and medication checks. I also keep a daily journal on my health. The second heart surgery, the femoral artery was severed, I bled into my left leg...this caused a real problem with my short term memory..thus the journal.
Hope you start to see improvement with your energy..but don't get discouraged. You will get stronger...becky "

" It took a good two months before I felt like doing much. The doctors failed to mention that the pain killers they give on release from the hospital are addictive so part of it was withdrawal from them as well. At 9 months I can walk 2 miles/day fairly easily..at 6 weeks I was doing good to walk to the mailbox...cardiac rehab helped a lot..if you can do it.
The depression is a part of the recovery process it seems..docs also don't tell you about it.
You will get better day by day..but do what they tell you...diet exercise meds. "
