I believe your dosages are too low the heart meds are designed to lower your heart rate metprolol is one and ramipril is another . Keep with the testing . I had a heartattack 9 months ago at first my BP was stabilized to 120/80 or better and has since climbed back up to about 145/92 which is high but I don't want it to continue to climb ...exercise and eating right are my only options the doctor won't do anything unless I push "hard" for more testing .I carry nitro and have had to start using it daily now for about a week . Don't be afraid to use your nitro and getting your heart to relax is something you're going to have to get the doctor to deal with ...it could mean surgery which is okay if nothing else works because alot of advances have been made and not all heart surgery is that invasive anymore such as angioplasty . Good luck and I hope the doctor is speedy in getting your heart on the right track . There is nothing worse than unecessary fluttering of the heart when I think it is usually an easy thing to deal with unless surgery is the only option . I'm not a doctor but phoning the doctor and asking if you can double your tropolol or ramipril or blood thinners would probably work . Don't just do it without asking first . Wishing you the best result and a speedy one to you my freind .

You could also ask your doctor about adding a low dose of Norvasc, which is another beta blocker that can be combined with others. It is effective with helping heart spasms or contractions, which women have a higher incidence of, and which it sounds like you might be having. Also, Indur (spelling?) have some nitro type ingredients, and helps with the spasms. See if he will try some of these first. I know it is hard to get them to look at other alternatives... I am having to deal with that myself. But we have to be our own advocates.

Not being able to get assistance with medical bills and not being able to afford tests is something so many people have to deal with. I'm sorry you are in such a position.
Regardless of you financial means, you HAVE to get tests and find out what is wrong. Most people think that a heart attack will either kill you, or you will live through it and all will be well. Something to think about is this: Some heart attacks, if severe enough, can do permanent brain damage, or kidney damage, and many other things. Get the tests and worry about the bills later. I don't mean to scare you, but, there are worse fates than dying of heart trouble. It's not something you can put off. Please take care of yourself!

I agree.. Get the tests done now and worry about the bills later! Your health is most important and you have to find out what is wrong.
I am going through the same thing - many many problems, and no money, but I keep doing it. Talk to the doctors about the cost issues..the GOOD ONES will still help you!

I say go ahead. I almost died waiting because of the cost. I was a heart attack waiting to happen. I owe over $45,000, but I am not worried. I had one hospital to cut one bill down to 20% and I am waiting for another hospital to see if they will cut it down. If they don't, I will continue paying them each month until they give in or I cash it in. By law, they have to treat you and by law, all you have to pay each month is $5. I get all my meds from WalMart and I get one free from the manufacturer. Montel Williams has a program that will help you with your meds, also. Since I am getting help with mine, I have opted not to use him. This might help you. Get help now. Your life is worth more than the money. I have mostly positive responses from the medical profession.
