Hi I'm new here. My daughter is now 7 yrs old. She has Subaortic Stenosis and Aortic Insufficiency. She has not had open heart surgery they are delaying it as long as possible, which is fine with me!! I also have a 16 month old born with a hole in his heart. They are hoping it will close on its own but are watching him because of his older sister's condition. I am glad to find a site dedicated to support, sometimes I need to just chat with people who know what I'm going through and I also have plenty of questions and concerns! Hope to make some new friends in the process.

" hey! i just joined this group too... my doctors just discovered the abnormality in may and i had open-heart surgery in june.
hopefully your daughter doesn't need the surgery and your son's hole closes on it's own - i'll be praying for them.

" Hi and welcome! I have a 3 month old little guy who goes in for open heart surgery at the end of Sept. He has what is called complete atrioventricular canal defect. I also have a 10 year old who when he was younger had a whole in his heart, but it closed on it's own. Definately around if you have questions or want to chat! "

" I joined the site awhile back. Grandaughter is having issues of missing lower left half of her heart. It is going better now after first operation. Found out very earily. Thank God. She is on www.carepages.com and keyword is Stowers. Grampa was not really in denial for the first few months but well....you know the feeling. You just can not bring your self to look at the info...right now. Possibly tomorrow or next week! "
