Congenital Heart Disease Support Group

I come from a family where this Heart Condition is inherited, my grandfather passed away from Heart Disease and my mother has it really bad now. This past week I was dx with it. I have always known I had a Heart Murmur from birth. However it was nothing that any Medical Doctor ever seemed concerned about until recently. They kept saying as of latley that it was a "significant" murmur. So after having had an Echocardiogram, it turns out that I have Mild Aortic Regurgitation for which I have been referred to a Cardiologist and the doctor also thinks I have the beginning of CHF. My mother, almost 80 yrs old has a bad heart, she has an Enlarged Heart and Severe Aortic Regurgitaton and a Heart Murmur. Same stuff I have as well as CHF really bad. Her sisters all had the same thing and her passed away from it and so did her father. So you can see my concern at this point. I am 40 yrs old and have had High Blood Pressure since I was 15 which only compounds the problem. I have a host of other illnesses to boot and frankly Im concerned about the outlooks of this illness.
