" I could never tell mine, they are just too religious and close minded. they might drop dead if i did. Sometimes its just best not to tell certain ppl, although pretending is not easy either (especially for someone like me!) it all depends on how close you are and how they feel about the topic. maybe find a way to bring up the subject of gay rights or something and get a feel for their reaction. then you can decide if you really want to tell them or not. " Hhmmm... I dont know. I havent told my Grandma, but thats probably because she lives in Europe. If she lived here though I would bring my girlfriend into the house and introduce her as my girlfriend, and then go about the day. I guess its not that easy for everyone though... I mean if your parents are cool with it then Im sure your grandparents will find a way to be cool with it too, goodluck. "

" i guess just telling them straight up would be the best way, depending on how close you are. i have 2 grandmothers & i plan on telling one, but not the other. luckily i have a cousin who's a lesbian, so the way has been paved for me. i know she'll be completely surprised, but at least i know she'll accept me for who i am. the other grandmother is too religious. i don't think i could do that to her... or me. i can hear the lecture now! =) "
