i hope u are ok. what your dad said to you is BULLSHIT. my fatehr is a prick like yours and it makes no sense to me at all? i dont understand how they can be mean to their own kid like that.

i have to face him; my father this summer cause i have to go home and take care of him after his surgery. he hates the fact that i am a disabled veteran...imagine how he will feel when i tell him that i am changing my name and becoming a woman? he is gonna freak..and i hope i can handle it???

you've kinda gotta be your own dad. you've gotta take care of yourself and protect yourself and give yourself "atta boys" - (you know, "praise" and high-fives and stuff) when you know you have done the right thing, been true to yourself, pulled off a great feat of human daring - like coming out or just sticking up for yourself. it is part of growing up. your parents can't always give you the nurturing and love that you deserve, so you've got to be resourceful and give it to yourself. this might sound crazy, but its the best I can say. Sometimes you have to be your own mom, too, and tell you how much you love you and don't forget to take your vitamins and eat your broccoli.

I know how it feels, and when it gets that bad, and they don't apologize (and I mean APOLOGIZE FOR THEIR BULLSHIT, not throw a mild "sawwie" out there and assume it gets the job done, then they aren't worth your effort.

You're an awesome person by yourself. You do not need them. You're stronger than they are.

I havent read all the post you recieved. I will make this short. i was disowned? by my mom and her husband for several yrs. They would only talk to me out of have to's like at a funeral. Few months back I sent her a note telling her I was sorry for being a disapointment to her and would never put her in a position again. Well, with a lot of patience and prayre nothing more! I laid low, I dont take my friends around them or anything but they have came around. I cant make any promises but I can say you have to be a big man here and just let things ride until they find their place in the role. Dont be crazy and push yourself on them maybe that is a start?
