Hi,

I've been thinking about coming out a lot recently. I'm 24 and I've always known I'm gay. My mum knows and she's fine with it. Me and my gf recently split up and my mum has been really supportive.

But, I've got to a point where I'm tired of pretending to be someone I'm not and I've had enough of the secrecy. Talking to people online is the only time I can be myself. But it's not the same!

It's driving me crazy. I want to come out so badly, but I just don't think I can. It's so terrifying!! Any help would be great!

" I was where you were about a week ago. I was so scared to come out because I thought everyone would judge me. But so far, everyone has been so kind and understanding and encouraging. I've found that emailing people works well. They have time to process what you say before they have to say anything. I've only told one person in person. That was the hardest things for me but I did and it felt great. If you're ready to come out just do it. It feels great. "

" Are you really only 14? You sound so much older! lol.

Thank you! The email idea I can't do as I'm still living at home. I'm having a lot of problems! If I tell them I can either tell them in person or write them a letter, then run away whilst they read it :-/ "

" That is what I did with the first person I told. I just wrote a letter, took his wallet slid the letter in and put it back before he noticed. The last step was probably the most important. That is also how I told my mom. Except the note went into her computer. But, now I am out to anyone who wants to know I feel so much better. "

" How did you feel after you gave him the note? I mean, before he read it.

It's all just so scary! "
