I number of you have sent me messages which I have not answered. The reason is my car was rear ended, and I suffered some injuries. I'm fine, now, but I must have a pinched nerve. My right hand is partly numb, and sometimes the pain feels like fire from my fingers to beyond my shoulder. It hurts to type. I haven't been able to sleep more than a couple of hours on some nights, but for the last two it has been better. I'm still looking for a doctor who knows what to do about this without surgery.

Best wishes to all. I will try to post more often after I feel better.

" Go to a Chiropractor!

I had a similar injury once after an accident. You're right, you have a pinched nerve (or ten).

Be aware that many Doctors will discourage Chiropractors but that they really are the best solution for this problem.

A chiropractor will be able to help you without surgery and if the other person was deemed at fault (which they must have been) then their insurance will cover the bill. Most Chiropractors will see you after you sign a "lien". All that means if you don't know is that you promise to pay the Chiropractor after you receive money from the insurance settlement.

Know that it will take MONTHS to settle the case and whoever you seek treatment from will be aware and not hassle you. Also know that you will probably be in treatment for a few months but it's well worth it and when it's over you'll feel sooo much better.

Actually, you'll feel noticeably better after the first or second treatment, but it'll take a little while to get back to normal.

It's a nerve racking process but it'll work out fine for you.

I've been through what you're going through now. I'm so sorry you have to deal with it. Trust me, I know it sucks!!!

Good luck and be well. "

" Thanks for the advice. I am a little better now, I got more than two hours sleep for the past four nights. I will check choropractors. A problem with the insurance is the son of the county assessor smashed into my car as he was in a hurry to get to football practice.

I was driving my great aunt's 1976 Ford Maveric which was totaled because a car that old isn't worth much. I didn't want to lose the car for sentimental reasons, and the assessor didn't want the accident on his son's insurance record because the rates would go up. So I agreed not to file a claim if he would fix the car to how it was. Maybe I should ask for help with my nerve. "
