is it normal to get fucked over by the college? where they give you the run around. never return your calls. i set up an appointment for an advisor on the 21st, and the bitch who took my information entered my phone number wrong for they couldnt call me. i watched her key it in wrong, so i confronted her about it. she then changed it. when we finished the appointment, she never closed out or saved what she did, she just wrote it on a piece of paper and gave it to me... i waited for a while too, to see if she would submit it or something. she just stopped using the computer and looked at me until i left. im pretty fucking sure she didnt save it, and i have no appointment.
i met this girl in financial aid who went through the school resource book and got the extention numbers for the advisors for me. im going to call and leave a message for an appointment on my own. what should i do if she really didnt set up an appointment for me? its not like this is the first time this type of shit has happened to me. You seem very upset and that's understandable. There are people at my college who always seem to give you the run around when you speak to them over the phone. usually it's not as bad when in person.
I think what you did is good. Trying to get the advisors # on your own. Once you set up an appointment you can also call a few days before to confirm it. with colleges certain things you have to stay on top them or else it'll never get done. it shouldn't be like that but unfortunately that's the way things are. The next time you go to the office try speaking to someone else. She doesn't sound like she's any good at during her job. Good luck!!!

If you feel you were wronged in any way, the best advice is to talk to the manager of the department. Go higher up. Be professional, document..document...document.
Unfortunately colleges are always full of politics and as a student you will run into your share of BS. Its not fair, but its life and I understand the frustration. Oh boy, do I understand. Sorry that happened to you!

Ive got run arounds before. Call the advisor yourself and ask that she calls you back by monday afternoon or whatver. What I have found out that the more you keep calling or going in there to make an apt, eventually they will get fed up and squeeze you in to get it over with. The squeaky wheel gets the oil : )
