My name is Liz65 and I have codependency issues,with my family and friends. I am 43 years old and I need help with boundaries and setting limits with people,otherwise if I do not,people will walk over me,and trouble picking good friends. I am glad to be here.

Hello Liz
First of all, love and validate yourself. Remind yourself first that your needs to be met first under your own schedule. Write down what you need, like, and want in life, well as from friends and family. Daily support will help!

Gret book about boundaries is called "Boundaries" by Cloud and Townsend, link below;
http://www.amazon.com/Boundaries-W... It is available at some libraries, and the copy I read came from a Baptist Church library. A different perspective is given at this link too; www.DocumentsSite.BraveHost.com And you are correct that boundaries are the cure to it all.

I guess I am the one that says boudaries are the cure for it all because I find that to be very correct.
When we make a true healthy boundary then it increases our self esteem and our will power, and our new boundaries prevent any further abuses from continuing against us. I mean personal boundaries like telling one self to stop drinking / stop drugs or stop smoking or start a recovery program, because those are very hard to do and very liberating and very empowering. True healthy boundaries are like the doorways or even the keys to the doorway that go to recovery. That is what I find to be true.
