I cannot help but think that one of the surest ways to break out of codependency is to earnestly tell one's story four to five times a day. I have to admit that I have never done this, but what I have found is that every time I do tell my story I am that much stronger on the path of healing. I find codependency to be one of the more difficult problems to know where it starts and stops, and hence to know when I am completely healed. What I do know is that I will be walking the path of healing for the rest of my life, mostly in a state of being recovered, but I will always be looking out for that little old habit that wants to sneak back into my life, that old manifestation of a problem I had thought was long-gone: it's called vigilance. Keeping it clean.

I guess your right. I have never done it myself, but since Ive started trying to re-trace my memories to what really happened when i was younger, I suddenly feel a strength and confidence which isnt there no matter what else I would try.
But telling someone my story is not possible yet for me, because I am still so unsure about my own memories and feelings. If I told someone about it before I own my own reality, Id just increase my inner doubts - constantly wondering if Im l lying and just making things up to get some attention. Still thank you so much for saying that. I hope I can really start talking soon, my inner child needs it so much.

Exactly how do you define co-dependency?
