Discussion:
Milk thistle and SAMe

I am curious about these two herbs I have been reading about. I have cirrhosis stage 4 and I am wondering what kind of success or non success people have had with these. I would like to see a discussion on what you guys think from experience with them. The SAMe almost sounds like a miracle herb since I have had so many muscle and hand stiffness and aches and lately I have been really down, especially since my biopsy confirmed the cirrhosis. Not sure what the milk thistle does. My doctor tells me not to worry because my levels are pretty normal and my meld score is so low but I can't help worrying and wondering what I can do to help or improve my situation. I will admit I am pretty scared. My doctor is of the thought that they will not help. But he says they cannot hurt either.

" I asked a similar question on the "advice" section, and got an answer like the one you got from your doctors. Won't help, but won't hurt either. Going to have to ask my doctor in my next appointment. "
