I have a question. I wonder if anyone else experiences this. For an example I was taking a nap and I woke up and was freaked. I didn't know where I was, and was scared. It was too weird. I do get confused and have some brain fog. Even sometimes in the morning when I wake up it's sorta like that. Don't know wht day it is and after a few I'm fine. I was just curious if anyone else has had this experience.
Thank a lot,
-Dave

" I have had that happen too...but only like twice. Also, I have been driving (I go 3 times/week very early to my clinic)and suddenly its like I snap out of a sleep. I know I didn't fall asleep at the wheel but its like I lost time for a minute or two and I have to "re-orient" myself again. Does that make sense? "

" I have done what kphelps menitons here. I will miss a turn I take all the time and not notice it for a few blocks. I was contributing it to being stressed or to deep in thought and not paying attentiona as I shlould be driving. Another thing to keep and I on. "

" I too have experienced some of your situations. Took 3 alarms and sometimes a phonecall to wake me up, always late as I could not judge time, go to pick something up at the store and couldn't remember what I was there for, had no clue to what day of the week it was, fell asleep at stop lights and drove thru stop signs.....and on and on. Very dangerous. It is much better now that I have gotten my ammonia level down. Suzes "

" Lactulose is to help lower your ammonia level and the confusion. I was prescribed other things for edema. "

" The way the dr. described the lactalose to me was: it helps filter the blood that the liver can no longer due to cirrhosis. Therefore it helps with the encephapathy (confusion, forgefulness, disorientation, etc.) due to ammonia levels. But can become less effective over a period of time. "
