Sorry you're in so much pain. Epidural injections don't always help and sometimes they don't last as long. Some people swear by them where others get little, or short lived relief. I had a bad reaction to one and couldn't walk for a week afterwards. Have you talked to your Dr. yet? Maybe there's something he or she can do to help with your pain. Hope you find relief soon!

The injections are unfortunately hit or miss (pardon the pun). They work for some people anywhere from 2 weeks to like me 3 months. I have seen ppl it worked on longer though.
Whether to re-do the series is up to you. Maybe it will be better next time, but beware you need at least 3 months before the next series for your safety.
Let me know if you are going to re-do them and Ii will message you a guide I have written to best prepare and recover from them. I am gone Tues through Fri this week. So message me.
God Speed, feel better
Ouch

I wish I could help you! I've been playing this game for 7 years and had countless epidural steroid injections (in my c-spine and l-spine discs) and had little to no relief from the pain. I always say it feels like I've been run over by a steam roller, or beat the crap out of. I'm here if you want to talk!

Did you have all 3? My first one helped one day the horriable for 2 weeks and the second one is still helping! But then agian it was my back and not my neck! But still...did you make you MD aware of the severe increase in pain? If not you should! and use ice/heat, and IBP it sounds silly but it may help!

I had injections in 1999 and 2000. Yes, my pain relief wore off. I also had a discogram and lumbar punctures. Now I have arachnoiditis. Please be aware that even though it is rare(what I have been told by several doctors including 2 at uab) it can happen. Some people swear by them some people don't. I would call the doc and tell him that you did not get the results that you expected. I was wondering what kind of meds did you try before the injections?

As a short-term back pain sufferer, I was in pain for six months, tried physical therapy, and then my doctor ordered an MRI. So the results were bad, and I was referred to a surgeon. He just did surgery on christmas eve. The pain was intense, but my leg pain was gone!! Be proactive with your health. My sister has had back pain for over a year, and I told her she needs to get down to the problem. I don't want to have to live on pain meds my whole life! Good luck to you.

I had one steroid epidural on C5-C6 about two weeks ago. All it did was make the pain worse. I felt like my entire neck was bruised and now the muscles in my neck, back and shoulders are constantly tense and painful. Did anyone else have an experience like this?

I have had just about every block there is and some last longer than other. Sometimes the pain doesnt come back because the injury healed during the time the steriod was working. You have to be careful and not over do it. I take oxycontin in high doses and still hurt, yet i am coping.I suggest having a nerve conduction test and see if there is any nerve damage. Different meds work for different pains. I hope everything works out. good luck

unless you want to end up weiging three hundred pounds stop the steriod injections. it is not at all good for your body. try methadone a long lasting, cheap but effective pain med, I also use vicadin for break through without it I would not be able to move
