" I'm sure sorry to hear you are already having problems with CFS, you're so young! It sounds like you had some pretty good, and high goals for yourself, which is great.

All I can say is if you think you can just muster your way through with homemade remedies, you are in for a long hard road. I would definately suggest finding a dr. ASAP that has knowledge of CFS and how to treat it. It CAN be kept under some control if it is treated properly, but it takes time and some experimenting to figure out the proper treatment for you. I'm discovering everyone is different so one treatment does not "fit all".

You will hear all kinds of options and advice here on DS, alot of it great, but so much that it becomes overwhelming sometimes. I take things I hear here and bring them up my dr. so we can discuss if they are good options for me.

So, find a dr. and work with them on what is best for you.I really wish you the best and it just plain "bites" that you are already dealing with this. Keep striving though because I really believe, the only thing keeping us from achieving what we want to achieve is ourselves. Where there's a will, there's a way and all that stuff. Hang in there. "

" Hey Jessica:
I totally admire you for wanting to follow your dreams and be successful. You are so young and what a challenge it must be for you to maintain a normal teenage life. I believe, were there is a will - there is a way.

It is hard to give advice not knowing the intensity of your health condition and what it is like on a regular basis. Or if your capable of maintaining a normal schedule and how you function cognitively.

Not being nosy here - just trying to see were you stand...trying to help you.
How is your attendance record at school now and are you able to attend regularly? Do you have the right gpa to be accepted in a University? The reason I ask those questions is because it may effect your ability to pursue this fulltime in the future.

In college you have to maintain good grades and attendance or you can get suspended. If you feel capable of going fulltime and have the grades to do it then all you can do is try. You are given a certain amount of time to withdraw from classes without any effect on your gpa or transcripts. I would most definitely watch the amount of credit hours (classes) I took per semester and not overload myself.

An alternative might be to start off slow and go parttime and see how that works for you. You could atleast try that for a semester and see how it goes. Some people start off taking General studies at a community college the first year and then transfer to a major university. There are also some courses offered online if that would help you.

You are the only one who knows your limits and can determine whether or not you are physically and mentally ready for this challenge. I have 2 degrees and my college days were some of the best days of my life. I would start off slowly if you have any reservations about any of this being too demanding for you. You are young and if you work hard and make the right decisions - you can still reach your goals and fulfill your dreams...maybe not as fast as you desire - but you can do it..My best friend in college had MS and she was a great person and an honor student.
