Does anyone else take elavil for chronic pain? It has helped me with pain, insomnia, and depression! It is an old cheap drug! I don't think many doctors prescribe it anymore.

" I was on it as an anti-depressant back in 87 when i was going through a divorce. It made me hallucinate. But I was on high dosages and for other reasons than pain.

I was constantly thirsty and constipated on the med.

Many people I have met over the years have taken it for sleep and pain. With more people liking it than not in low dosages.

Ouch "

" I have not taken Elavil but my husband was given it 20 years ago when he had bone spurs taken out of his ankle. I will never forget...the very first dose...he sat straight up in bed (hard to do in a waterbed) and projectile vommited (like in the exorcist). Scared the daylights out of me. The Dr discontinued it immediately. "
