" I know what shes talking about, I'm like yourself trying to help my mom through her chemotherapy. Shes loosing the majority of her hair at the moment and will get a wig soon. She has mentioned that her scalp is dry and inchy same for skin on her face and hands.

I've never known anything like it, for a treatment it seems as bad as the condition. I hope you mom is doing well. "

" She would probably benefit from a really good moisturiser.. I chose to shave my hair once it started to fall out loads and had a wig organised before that happened.. I didn't have any itching or tenderness, but use lots of moisturising lotion.. Looking after my scalp now instead of my hair.. xxx "

" I don't know if your mom still has some of her hair or not. I shaved mine when it started falling out, and now I put moisturizer on my scalp morning and night. I also use a really good shampoo (actually belongs to my husband but it smells so good) on my bald head in the shower, and then moisturize my head while it's still damp. So far that has kept my scalp feeling pretty comfortable. Does your mom wear a soft cotton or nylon wig liner when she wears hats or wigs? That will help, too and protect her delicate scalp. "

" I have worked in the wig industry (World of Wigs) for 20 years and have heard the same "tender scalp" side effects from a majority of my clients. I can only pass on what information they say helped: shaving their head seemed to help the itchiness. After a few weeks the tenderness seems to go away. I hope this helps!
