" Hi!

If you can eat oats, depends on how sensitive you are to gluten. Oats do contain gluten but less than the dangerous amount. If you are very sensitive to gluten, I wouldn't advice you to eat oats, but if you're not that sensitive, there shouldn't be any problem at all.
A lot of people can eat oats without any reaction, so :) "

" Thanks!! I guess I'll stay away from it for a while till my system heals a bit and then try it. Does it make a difference if its oat bran instead of flakes? "

" FYI: Oats do NOT normally contain gluten. They can be cross-contaminated with gluten but recent testing shows they do not contain gluten. There are certain oat brands that are certified to be processed without gluten. Others are not certified.

Also, you mentioned oat bran/oat flakes. These may contain gluten and you should always check the whole label.

As the saying goes, when in doubt, do without! "

" I have always been told to stay away from oats. There are huge chances with oats from cross contamination. I choose for my children nothing with oat. I would rather be safe than sorry. GOOD LUCK:) "
