For those of you who doubt medical miracles, just got back from our "in person" cancer support group and there was one person there who is next week going to pass his 5 year cancer survivor mark from Pancreatic Cancer.
He is a young person, not yet 60, and is among only 3% to do this! He was given 1 year at diagnosis. I believe in medical miracles. I'm not saying that we are all going to see them in our friends and family. However, they do exist. This is just one case. I am sure there are many, many more. Hold onto your hope and faith -- your Tumaini. That is what we all survive on -- hope, belief, faith. It can and does happen. I posted this on Friends and family of cancer survivors group as well. I know everyone here is not a caregiver for a cancer patient, but I wanted to share it with everyone in the Caregiver group as well. Posted on 07/22/08, 08:07 pm |

I just came across this post - I watched the "Last Lecture" a short while ago. I also watched the Time interview:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdE... I had never heard of him before tonight. What an amazing person. He is an inspiration. With my brother's cancer progressing, the Time Interview was a blessing to me. Thank you for this post.

You know, I heard about this earlier today, and though I felt tremendously sad, somehow I felt at peace. I don't know if it's because of my current life situation or that Andy was telling me it was ok, he was truly at peace. And like Donna said, he had accomplished what he had come on this Earth do to. I don't know, but incredibly sad, but incredibly peaceful ... all in the same breathe. Rest in peace with the angels dear Andy.
