" My husband has neuroendocrine carcinoma. It is a carcinoid that originates in the pancreas. He had the body and tail of his pancreas removed successfully and was then placed on prescription digestive enzymes (Creon 10). They had to remove his spleen at the time. They resection his bowel and attached it to the end of the pancreas for drainage. He was cancer free for seven years. Last year it came back in his liver. They removed the left lobe of his liver and then it appeared in the right lobe. It is also in his lymph nodes. We have been told no more surgery. So he is now on Sandostatin. "

" Was he not on sandostatin all this while? Good move to go on it. Also has he been to see any of the neuroendocrine specialists? I do have difficulty signing on to DS sometimes and that is partially why I was out for a while. "

" He only started on Sandostatin when his cancer came back for the third time. That was last April. Now his cancer is again growing and the doctor is recommending chemotherapy (Zeluda and Temador). We are seeing a neuroendocrine specialist at H. Lee Moffit Cancer Center. These guys are doing a lot of research on this. "
