A new sub group dedicated to "COPD / Emphysema / Education" to cover latest medical updates / terminology explanations, medicines and treatments. In fact all about COPD. Any member could then read or post any news / information regarding our disease or treatment.
The information that has already been posted here is very important to this group, it is very extensive information which can require a lot of reading, often it is factual information and statements copied from other sources which members may not already have read that perhaps they do not wish to discuss but actually just read and absorb. I am aware that many members here are very much already educated about COPD / Emphysema and I feel that sharing the information is essential to us all. I think it would be great to have access to a sort of COPD dictionary for when members needed to find things out, look things up or simply just remind themselves about information they have already come across. We could then discuss in the discussion support group for COPD / Emphysema the preferences of its members about their views on what things should be included in the new COPD / Emphysema Education sub group. Just a suggestion - for discussion PS Perhaps we should even have a sub group call "The grumpies" and go there when we feel like offloading! Posted on 10/07/08, 08:10 am |

The site we have I understood was for the education proposal that you make – but on reflexion there is quite a lot of merit in what you suggest, I just love your idea to have a sub group called "The Grumpies" – pure magic and it is also a very credible suggestion. Donal:

I hadn't realised this group was for education only. Can you point me to where it says that Donal? I had understood it was a support group across the board.
As I say my post is a suggestion any one can agree or disagree. That is what discussions are all about.

Why couldn't we post all this educational stuff on the News & Info index as web sites to visit ? Sassy only gave us info once...maybe twice a week she'd share an article. It might work.

My position is que sera sera - when I joined I just followed the flow - but I a;ways go with the flow and what I possibly did not make myself 100% clear - I agree with you and it is only a question of having the members decide what goes where - a tag means nothing it is all about content and you seem to have a formula that is worth serious consideration by everyone. It is your idea that has me full of enthusiasm - so I am easy - just get a format and I'll sign up to it. After all it was your idea and I don't wish to detract or take away from the credit I feel your suggestion merits. Donal:

Hi Kylees - perhaps I did not explain well.
Just making a suggestion that in addition to what we already have here that perhaps it would be good to have a sub group say "COPD / Emphysema / Educationn where any one wanting to post or read specifically about medication and treatments could go, so that Discussion postings such as this would not be all jumbled up with them and making the site / Group easier to access when one is visiting for either, support, discussion or just to find out more about medication and treatment. Of course this would be something that might not be agreeable to all of us. And if it was it would make sense to have an additional group area for "COPD / Emphysema / Education.
