Welcome to the club! I think most of us have a really rough time when the humidity is high. For me, I've learned to watch the "dewpoint" on the weather forecasts. When it's above 60, I have to be careful. I haven't found anything that helps except to just stay inside in the air conditioning and do quiet things. (mend, polish the silverware, etc.) I can feel just as housebound as I do in the winter when the snow is high. The things that need doing will wait for another day. Don't push yourself too hard.

Like you I live in Southwest Florida and it so hot and humid and has been raining for two weeks on and off not that I am complainng since we really need rain. I am also new with this COPD and just finding out what bothers me. So I go where there is air conditioning. Let me say I do not do anything unless it is air conditioned. Hang in there it will get better.

I've got the same thing, just can't take even a couple of minutes out there, it's cabin fever all over again for when it lasts for days. We do get the am's when it's lower in temp sometimes..
Otherwise, no, this is pretty normal. Hang in, dearheart, you are not alone.

Watching the dew point is a good idea, thanks Sue! I catch a lot of you know what from my family because my yard is such a mess. It's getting better, thanks to my son moving back home. He is such a big help. Thanks everyone for your support and encouragement.

I seem to do better in cooler temps. I very seldom turn on the heat in the winter. I just joined this group. I have had lung problems all my life. I am lucky, I have a nurse that comes to my home as needed, and have a home health care provider that comes in M-W-F to help with house work, shopping, etc. All I need now is someone to mow my patio.
Roseypeach, I had to chuckle when you said your family gave you problems about your yard. Prior to my having helpers, my yard and house was less than 'perfect'. I was still recovering from two heart attacks, when my sister called one day a couple of years ago. She was ranting about my house and yard. When she finally finished, I said "If my house and yard concern you so much, YOU come over and clean and mow ". I am still waiting for her to show up..she hasn't called any more, either. Her loss. Thanks for letting me vent!! Couldn't sleep last night, so here I am, on the internet and listening to the T.V. becky

It seems like extreme cold or heat bother me and especially so if it's humid or there's a storm coming. Thankfully, I live in a semi-arid climate.
